What started it all:

In 1987 I purchased an S-10 with intentions of fixing it up with some wheel and tires. I picked up a magazine one day called Truckin' to look at some wheel/tire combinations. After a few minutes of  browsing through the magazine, I realized that out west (Cali.), people where really doing some crazy and radical things to these mini-trucks and the wheel/tire idea wasn't going to be enough to trick out my S-10.

A few months later I had that S-10 slammed with ground effects and stylin' some "Heartbeat Of America" graphics along with painted wheel dust covers.

There where only few "Low Riders / Sport Trucks" around Indy, but the craze was growing quick. Which inspired me to build another mini-truck. I had been bit by the custom truck bug.

I had as always had artistic talent, but never knew what to do with it. That all changed when I designed the graphics and painted this next mini-truck. It was a big hit at the Indpls. World Of Wheels. People was wanting me to paint their rides.

I painted a couple more trucks for friends and took them  to some national truck shows to see what the Mid-West thought of my painting?  We had a great response and won a few Best Paint Awards.

The following year (89') I opened a custom painting business called Showtime Customs, LLC.

Since then, things got very, very busy.  I have been  recognized by the leading magazine publishers for original designs and attention to detail.  My work has been featured on the covers Truckin', Mini-Truckin', Sport Truck, Hot Bike, Low Rider and VQ.  Needless to say, I found something to do with my artistic ability.

Set Back:

Things were going great for the first 10 years.  But the popularity and demand took it's toll on us. We spent lots of money trying to find good productive help.  With no luck.  The wife and I would have to do and redo everything in the end.  Things where getting way behind and out of control.

About the same time, my mother passed away at the young age of 48. (virus)  These turn of events in our lives had us overwhelmed with both mental and physically fatigue.  We had to miss allot of work and we where Showtime's only employees.  This meant nothing was getting done...!

Still not wanting to sacrifice the quality of work, we was known for. We had to stop taking any clients and attempted to finish the projects we had started.  Which took us nearly 18 months.

IBack in action:

A long 2 years later... Teresa has landed a good job at Car-Quest's D.C. here in Indianapolis and Ron is back to painting for other shops as RT Designs.  Some of the shops include Bewley's Bodyworks,  Hall's Bump-n-Grind and TT Custom Workz

So we're doing much better now and things are looking up. ( one-day-at-a-time )   We still enjoy custom painting and our attention to detail hasn't changed.

Special Thanks:

To GOD and Jesus!  Also to my wife.  (Teresa) For being my best friend and believing in me, when others didn't.
